Nice location but overpriced

Cuisine: Thai and some western

Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆
Price indication: expensive; average meal about THB 400 up

The Gallery is in a range of restaurants located along the river. Some people go to the Riverside, others to the Goodview and others to the Gallery. The Gallery positions itself as a more upclass restaurant, more luxury ambiance and more expensive dishes.
However, the food isn’t that great at all. The last time I tried, it was really disappointing and even worse than the others along the river, while the price is double or triple.
Young, local Thai people don’t hang out here, because it’s too expensive, so mostly you see (older) tourists, and though I did appreciate this place a few years ago, the kitchen didn’t really improve and it’s definitely not worth it for me anymore.

There are some things on the menu you can’t find easily, such as red duck curry and some variations with duck in more western style, but it’s not worth it. The portions are rather small too, so it’s really all about the ambiance and not having the noise around in other places such as the Riverside.

Location: east embankment of the river, just up from Nawarat bridge for about 500m, past Riverside and Goodview.
Open: every day
