The ultimate proof that Tripadvisor food ratings don’t work

Euro Bar is a little place close to the UN Irish Pub, owned by an Australian but mostly run by Thai.
The menu offers a selection of popular farang dishes such as: pizza, pasta, Hungarian goulash, Boeuf Bourguignon, Wiener Schnitzel, baked potato and so on. The standard Thai dishes are on the menu too.
Almost all the dishes I had here were dry, old and somewhat salty. Perhaps not a surprise because what restaurant can offer so many farang dishes fresh off the plate, most of it must be prepared in advance and be frozen, to defrost and microwave it on demand. Unfortunately, the meat in the Boeuf Bourguignon was very dry, either because the wrong type of meat was stewed, because it was stewed too long, or because the frost made it so dry.
The potatoes were dry too, probably cooked early afternoon and waiting to be heated up later.
And the baked potato wasn’t a baked one, but simply the same potatoes put in an aluminium foil and microwaved.
Overall, the food basically tasted like what is served in an airplane.
The service was very friendly, and the atmosphere is pretty relaxed, some say it feels like being in Europe, this might explain the name…
Tripadvisor members have rated this place a 4.5 (out of 5) so for me this proves that Tripadvisor food ratings simply don’t work.
The only thing worth trying is perhaps the Sunday’s Roast Beef, because it is probably made on that day without being frozen and hopefully the side dishes aren’t too old by the time you get it on your plate.
